Kathy Yamamoto is a writer, performer, and mom living in Los Angeles. She started her career as a support staff in TV production, most notably at CONAN, where she was able to pitch and write sketches. She honed her screenwriting skills and placed in several contests and fellowships, and participated in Wong Fu’s inaugural Sketch Writers’ Lab, where they later produced a sketch she wrote. She’s also written sketches for the Upright Citizens Brigade, YouTube’s Anna Akana, and her own personal projects. Her writing has appeared online for Cosmopolitan, The Belladonna, and more. She’s written jokes, sketches, and banter for ChimeTV’s annual Unforgettable Gala, a night celebrating Asians in entertainment, media, and culture for three years. As a performer, she’s featured in several national commercials and performs with her improv teams PONY and Asian AF at Upright Citizens Brigade.
